Media reports about Tetrahand Surgery in Hungary

Prof. Fridén and Dr. Turcsanyii at
the press conference.
Media plays an increasingly important role in disseminating information about medical advances. New therapies raise public interest and the field of tetra hand surgery has proven dramatic improvements in patient outcomes and greater availability of surgical rehabilitation which has aroused curiosity. It was therefore gratifying that the course leaders (Drs Turcsanyii and Fridén) of the recent European tetrahand surgery course in Hungary were able to tell about the surgical service to both newspapers and television.  Questions focused on "how can spinal cord injury patient find more information about this topic?", "What  are knowledge levels and availability of service in different countries?", "What are the risks of surgery?", "Are costs covered by public health insurances - differences between countries?".
