17 patients who have undergone reconstructive tetraplegia hand surgery have participated in the Patient Survey so far. More than 4 out of 5 report improvement of function and are satisfied with the outcome of surgery. Only 8% of the patients had surgery within the first year and the largest group had their reconstructions between 1 and 5 years after injury (see pie chart). Interestingly, almost one out of 5 patients had their operations more than 10 years after their spinal cord injury. We are looking forward to more answers which will give us a better picture of how the patients judge the result of the surgeries.Wednesday, June 2, 2010
